Thought about doing a cat run..

Thinking about doing a cat run at the side of our conservatory.. We are just sick of loosing cats over pathetic looney drivers!
Will this be a good idea? Likee.. we are building a cat flap on the wall in the conservatory into the hut next to it outside. So they can go in and out whenever they please. Night + Morning.

At the moment we have to get Mia and Toby in around 5.30ish when its beginning to get dark because we are scared s***less of wot might happen.

Is this a good idea.. or bad?
Thanks shannon x

Re: Thought about doing a cat run..

thanks, my dad will be beginning to build it in a few weeks.
Just hope it will work for my babies! So i dont have to be scared whilst im at work, or out shopping or just leaving them alone whilst im in the house and there outside scares me.

Re: Thought about doing a cat run..

2 in 10months, no.. no your not rude
First was my sisters Tommy.. She got him for her 13th birthday last July and he got knocked over on the estate in january at 9months.
Second was Molly.. We got her in Febuary and lost her Last thursday night on the main road behind our house.

It could just happen anywhere, the estate is always quiet but it still happend.

Re: Thought about doing a cat run..

Oh my goodness! I am so sorry

Hmm I'm guessing no-one saw anything? I have lost a cat to the road about 5 years ago now but the lady who did knock him down, wrapped him in a towel & placed a note inside with her number on. If only more people were as thoughtful & caring!

I'm sure you must still feel quite raw too as one only happened last week. Thank you for not thinking I was rude & big hugs ((((XX))))

Re: Thought about doing a cat run..

Aww, that was nice of her.
With Tommy the man who ran him over went to a close by house and told the woman his number and where he had taken him. (We found out he was knocked over by our Neighbour, she came across and asked us if we had a black and white cat with a neon green collar.)We had gone over to the scene he wasnt there so we went to the closest house and she told us he had taken him to the local Vets and gave me his number. We rang him and thanked him for taking him to the vets.. But the next day he lost his battle was in so much pain had to be PTS.

With Molly .. :/ She went missing Thursday night.. Friday morning she didnt come back so we knew it was serious.. we went to look for her, and we could see her clearly once we was driving up the main road. She was led on the grass dead and stiff it was horrible! It was asif someone led her there.

Re: Thought about doing a cat run..

i think the run would be a good idea!

i have had one of my cats get hit by a car, sadly it was a week before my 13 birthday and he died straight away!

luckily enough it was right out side my house, i know it would be horrible not knowing what happened!
the person who was driving the car and hit him was crying as well, he was really upset about it all.
