i have had one of my cats get hit by a car, sadly it was a week before my 13 birthday and he died straight away!

luckily enough it was right out side my house, i know it would be horrible not knowing what happened!
the person who was driving the car and hit him was crying as well, he was really upset about it all.

Aww! i know how it feels.. its horrible. I just wish people cared as much as they do for dogs. There apart of peoples families, but some people who knock cats over just dont seem to care.

Re: Thought about doing a cat run..

That's a good idea. We lost our wee Ollie - run over, cause he wandered. (our fault really) We are moving house soon with a big garden with big trees and bushes ECT enough for a "rummage around" for a cat, and I will be fencing it all round. Its a risk I know as he might wander, But the fun we had with our last cat was Amazing.!!

Aww, great ideas about fencing your garden around, we just dont have a big enough garden and we have a deckin and a Trampoline, and sitting area. Only enough room for a reasonable sized run.
And sorry about your Ollie R.I.P Ollie

Re: Thought about doing a cat run..

We have put pigeon netting along the top of our fencing in the back at n overhang (off brackets) to deter our Ragdolls from jumping out. It does work but we do only let them out when we are there with them but it means they get to go outside and roam around the garden.

Re: Thought about doing a cat run..

the amount of times i have had to slam my brakes on when cats have run out infront of the road...and i've only been on the road 2 years!
the worst thing is when 1 is chasing another...
i can't begin how it must feel to lose a pet in such a way

i hate things like this. really hate it.
i hate having to go over dead foxes/ hedgehogs etc in the road.
i can't understand how someone can find it entertaining...
or not stop!!
it's nice to hear that there are some thoughtful people out there (re: towel &note)
i would be traumatised.
im not a cat person, this sort of thing appears to be more common with cats.
deepest sympathies to any who has lost a loved pet in this way

hope your run works out well and you never have to go through this again.
