Cat beds

Hi
My cat, Pebbles, keeps sleeping on the kitchen counters and I keep telling him to get down and he is now getting down when I ask him too, but I'd like to get him a bed and maybe try and teach him to go in the bed to sleep rather than the kitchen. I don't really want to spend a lot of money on this bed because I don't know if he'll use it. Sorry to be nosey, but can you tell me if your cat uses his/her bed and what bed they have? I was thinking of getting my cat one of those pyramid type beds that are covered so that Pebbles would be a bit cosier and not have people near him all the time. Thank you for the help

Re: Cat beds

You might try a radiator bed if you have central heating. A huge favourite with most cats (there are a few that don't take to them though) as they are off the ground, support the weight like a hammock and are as warm as you could ever get!

Re: Cat beds

mine wouldn't use their radiator bed at all - fussy moos! What ever you buy is going to be trail and error - some days mine use their beds and some days they don't!

Re: Cat beds

I got a nice bed for my cat and she refuses to go near it and instead sleeps either on my bed or one of the dining room chairs

Re: Cat beds

We've got several types of beds, but the one most of them like is a radiator bed. None of them like to sleep in something that's covered though, like a pyramid bed. They do like the cheapest bed I have too, which is a wicker bed in which I put a little blanket. It cost about 5 pounds and for the blankets I buy pieces of nice fluffy fabric to cut up.

Re: Cat beds

We bought lots of beds, but she sleeps in a box in the spare room which has a huge blanket lay'd over the top of it (always keep the receipt! hehe)

Try making a makeshift bed up before spending lots of money?

Re: Cat beds

He did have a box when he was little with towels and blankets and he quite liked that. He looked hilarious in it because it had the words chilled chips written on the front of the box. I did think about that but I can't seem to find a box big enough. I'll keep looking for one though

Re: Cat beds

Hi we got our cat Annie an igloo bed and she still hasnt slept in it, not even during the day. She either sleeps on our bed or I have a container near the window she loves to sleep on, so I put some blankets on it and she has taken this as her bed. In the morning about 5.30 I pull back the curtains and she is happy to sit and look at the outside world.
