Re: How many cats do you have?

Gosh, don't keep to 13 for too long - I did (not really by choice) and look what happened

I currently have 12 cats:

Penny, caramel shaded Tiffanie girl, 14
Daisy, lilac tortie Burmilla girl, 12 - Penny's daughter
Nutmeg, brown tortie Burmese, 11
Rio, tawny Ocicat, 5
Kiki, tortie silver tabby & white LaPerm, 4
(all these 5 are neutered)

Greg, chocolate Burmese stud, 4
Dexter, black smoke Asian stud, 1 (he hasn't actually sired kittens yet)
Lyra, black tortie silver Burmilla girl, 1
Cherry, lilac Burmese girl, 1
Molly, chocolate Burmese girl, 1
Alice, tawny Ocicat girl, 1
Sophie, brown silver ticked tabby Asian girl, 7 mths

Soon to be arriving - chocolate silver Ocicat kitten (hopefully future stud, as yet unnamed)
Will be keeping one of my current Burmese kittens - their mother died 2 weeks ago when they were only 5 weeks old
So will have 14, but I always aim to keep at around 15 or preferably below. Apart from my Burmese boy, they all live in the house and get on amazingly well, but then apart from Molly, all of the younger ones have been born here.

I currently have 11 kittens - the Burmese mentioned above (6 of them) and 5 Asian kittens of whom only 3 have homes lined up as yet

To answer the original question, the current tally is:

Basil, Burmese stud (if he ever works out what to do)
Nigel, Tiffanie stud for next year
Danny, Burmese outcross stud for next year
Backup Burmese outcross stud (name not decided)
Gordon, Asian Variant stud for next year
Unnamed Burmilla stud for next year
Katie, Burmilla queen
Trudie, Asian queen
Cassie, Burmese queen
Mitzi, Tiffanie queen (if she ever calls)
Fiona, Tiffanie queen for next year
Dawn, Tiffanie queen for next year
Meeka, rescue spotted tabby female

Which is not only over the 6 my husband thinks I have, it's also over the 12 I have told myself I will have. However, some of the boys I am hoping to use for just one litter and then rehome, though it doesn't always work out like that (had planned to do that with two this year, ended up rehoming both before they had produced a litter, the girls did not co-operate!)

Temporary residents:

Choccie, leaving home next week I hope
Burmese outcross kitten (unnamed)
2 x Burmilla kittens (unnamed)

O it's exciting having a new boy on the way!

I wondered if you'd be keeping one of the burmese kittens - have you decided which one?

I have 4 and they all live very happily together. But then they are mums and offspring!

Re: How many cats do you have?

Well....... one positive thing about this thread is you are all making me feel much happier about my agonising decision on Cuba's kittens! I really really did not want 3 cats. I said if any of them wanted to stay, I would be open to that.... but I didn't know that 2 would put their paws up to say Yes Please. I still don't want 3 cats but things are just panning out that way, even to the extent that the 2 who want to stay here have been best mates since 3 weeks old!

Re: How many cats do you have?

Not enough! But can't imagine coping with any more than the two we already have. Can't remember the last time I was on time for work.....
