Wow where do you live?? lol Thats awful Glad that you gave in

Inner city Nottingham. To be fair, there are also some very nice catlovers round here, who've ended up with five or six of other people's unwanted cats, and we tend to feed each other's cats a little bit if they turn up wanting a snack, but that's different because we talk to each other and have a laugh about it. I've only got three and it's staying that way!

Re: Lost his collar yet again!

I did consider letting Gizmo go collarless as she is microchipped but then I heard some old ladies in a restaurant talking about local cats. They were saying if a cat doesnt have a collar on they consider it stray so they basically catnap them!!
There is no way now I am letting Gizmo out without one for thesse mad old ladies to get her!!
She has got out of her quick release collar once but this was thankfully indoors.

lol scarey!! Thats what frightens me to be honest! Alot of older people think that because its not got a collar its homeless. I started putting the collars on with buckles but then my cats are lazy so I know they only lay in the gardens. Those elastic ones only last a day.

That's interesting. What do you think about people's attitude to their animals? (The way staffies are treated is what upsets me most, just here today, gone tomorrow.)

Only thing is it has a buckle collar rather than the quick release clip but does have some give in it due to a piece of elastic. I ws a little worried my cat may get caught on something with it on.
Or this one does personalised collars so you can have your name/number on the collar itself. Kitty Collars: Safe Cat Collars UK - Cat Safety Collars UK

Yes, I've just looked and they have some lovely collars, which I'll definitely consider buying for my other two, but because Bertie never keeps a collar for very long I only like to spend a couple of pounds on his. I'd be more upset if he lost a beautiful collar!

No, he lost the safety clasp ones within hours, just playfighting with Louis, so I gave up on them. They're great for less active cats, Lulu has one and it's stayed on all year because she rarely leaves the house if she can avoid it.

Yes they are a little expensive...I have brought reflective ones from pets at home and my local pet shop also. They were about £3.

Well on the whole I think most people round me who have animals really look after them but I have noticed that some especially dog owners are like u say - sad really I think some dogs are a token to them and a status symbol especially the staffs - they think they will make them look tough - I must admit I used to be a bit scared of them but there are three across the road from me and they are absolutley fabulous dogs really friendly and have deffo changed my view -
