Re: vet mistake advise

Quick cover up definitely - you should get the option to take the cat back to bury yourself!

Definitely a complaint for negligence. I hate to suggest it, but what about a no win no fee lawyer?

Liz

That what we was thinking, we was thinking of calling the citizens advice and asking if they know who could help.

Meggie will become famous soon enough
Re: vet mistake advise

It sounds suspicious to me too. Not only did they take it upon themselves to send him to the crematorium - they had no right to do that, but they have done it the same day.... something isn't right.

If I have this right, he was operated on today, didn't wake up and was sent to the crematorium today as well? I would give the crematorium a call in the morning asap and find out what has happened.

Re: vet mistake advise

I am so so sorry to hear about your cat.

Yes I agree with the others, there is definatly something fishy going on there.

No way would your dear cat have been sent straight off to be cremated. Most vets only have a pick up every few days and in fact the vets I worked at, it was only once a week.

All vets should and usually do give you the choice of taking your beloved pet home for a burial or they can cremate for you.

This may sound a bit insensitive, but I don,t mean it to be but the cat is still your "possession" and not the vets.

I would definatly advise going to CAB but also to the Royal Veterinary College with a complaint.

At least you know that passing away under anaethestic he did not suffer in any way. But that does not make it any easier for you, my thoughts are with you.

Re: vet mistake advise

OMG! How awfull.

They are trying to cover something up, he should not have been sent for cremation without your consent, this is clearly to stop a cause of death from being established.

I would call the crematorium and try and get it stopped firstly.

Then make an official complaint to your own vets and then the national college of veterinary surgery.

I would also like a previous poster said speak to one of these no win no fee lawyers.

They are responsible for the death of your pet and the best they can do is say you do not have to pay the bill ??

Of course you shouldn't have to pay the bill and you should also be looking at some form of compensation.

Plus the vet involved needs to be punished to stop this happening again!

thanks but not sure ware they sent and was to upset to ask, not that we even want to talk to them after this. and yes this all happened in 1 day, they told my to call at 2pm,she did they said alls well he's sleeping and call back at 4pm. But just after 3.30pm they called and said he was dead. so when i came home at 5.30pm we went to see them asked if we could see him to say goodbye they told us he was not there..we where to shocked to ask questions....
