Strange breathing noise - am I paranoid?

Enzo makes a strange noise when he breaths, occassionally. I'm not really sure how to describe it unfortunately. It sounds quite deep.

I know I'm not giving your very much information, but do you have any ideas?

Re: Strange breathing noise - am I paranoid?

Alongside this, sometimes when he is asleep his breathing is quite apparent... sounds like someone breathing through their nose when they have a cold? Not so much snuffly, but... almost a snore.

Re: Strange breathing noise - am I paranoid?

Thanks for the information!

I guess I'm more worried about the deep noise than the snore... didn't know if it could be related!

Re: Strange breathing noise - am I paranoid?

Is this strange breathing something new from Enzo or has he always done it?
If it's something new it needs checking. If he's always done it it's just the way he is

Re: Strange breathing noise - am I paranoid?

My husband's elderly cat breathes noisily quite a lot and he has a heart murmur. I know this can be a serious problem in some cats, but Toto is fine and has reached 13 without the vet even needing to give him any treatment as yet.

I can't remember... don't think he has always done it. Although, I've only had him for 3 weeks. His chest seems quite strained when he coughs - I've been advised that he may be allergic to something in the house? Or, attempting to cough up one whopper of a hairball

He is otherwise EXTREMELY happy and healthy!
