Introducing new cats

We got 2 new kittens today after a while deciding.

And in the past we've done the slow introduction and just putting them all in as we've introduced 3 cats in the past.

Our eldest cats are 15year old and 9 years old.

We have introduced them right away, as the two cats we took the time with last time have never seen eye to eye, so we wonder if the slow introduction was why.

But anyway, brought them home and the eldest female has hissed at them a couple times if they've gotten too close, but otherwise just ignored them

But the male...who is the dominant one, when he see's them he just growls and just now one of the kittens managed to scrape past him into the livingroom and our male was all but screaming at him, but was within inches of him but didnt lash out at him.

Plus both the older cats have slept during the day and have now gone to bed, but not sleeping as the kittens have far too much energy and being brothers are very happy to play with eachother.

My questions are....how long do you reckon until they are accepted and also, is there anything else we can do to help them.

We've made a fuss of the older cats and given them treats and not pushed them outta the way if they are in the way of the kittens path, just wanna know if theres anything else we can try, cos one of the kittens we got is so small for 16weeks old, the runt of the litter it seems and quite timid, while the other is alot bigger and bolder, any help would be appriciated
