Cat Insurance
I have posted on here previously about this but didnt really have much response.
I have never owned any animals except rats which just are not worth insuring as their bills are rarely over the excess amount. I now have 2 kittens and want to insure them but have no idea where to start. I have set up a policy with petinsurance.co.uk who are underwritten by E & L.... I have been told they have a bad reputation where paying out claims are concerned. Im keen to get thier insurance sorted but want a recommendation - has anyone had any ongoing illness' etc where the insurance company has been really good? I want to make sure I choose the right one for peace of mind, Thanks |

Re: Cat Insurance
My cats are all insured with animal friends.
They used to be underwritten by e&l but are not now! They have paid out on the only claim ive made for my dog without any problems xxx

Re: Cat Insurance
The thing is with pet insurance, is that a lot of the cover is very basic and doesnt cover things like theft, death or accidents.
Also, most companies only offer 'rolling' policies which have to be renewed every year. In that year, if your cat is diagnosed with an illness, the following year you renew, telling them about the illness even if it has cleared up, but if the same condition returns the insurance company will not cover it, as it is classed as a pre-exisiting condition. The only way to get around this is to take a policy offering lifetime cover. I use Pet insurance for cats and dogs from Petguard

Re: Cat Insurance
argos, homebase and m&s offer lifetime cover and are generally more competitive than petplan
if you havent claimed yet with pet-insurance.co.uk , you could still go elsewhere but hurry before your pet develops a condition. Once this happens, you are more or less stuck with your provider. good luck

Re: Cat Insurance
Go to the 'get a quote section', one of the boxes asks if you want 12 month cover, click no and it means it covers for life (explained in the sub section). The good thing about petguard is that you can personalise the cover for you, by selecting the extra protection, overseas cover etc.
