Re: Cat Insurance

Ive heard lots of similar stories to that about petplan, our boys were insured with them for 4 weeks but now have petguard. But even worse stories from other 'big names - insure all' competitors.

I agree, petplan are overpriced, and it seems very unfair how they work their prices out. I was really unsure who to insure with in the beginning but got some excellent advice from breeders and friends, and discovered a lot. I was recommended petguard but countless people

I think people go with well known names and this whole insurance thing is really mind boggling at times, petplan make their money from people who either havent shopped around or dont know what they are getting I think.

However, all the times Ive spoken to petguard, and others that use it, we all agree that you get great cover, great service and great peace of mind all at an excellent price

(And no, I dont work for petguard Im just a very impressed customer!)

Re: Cat Insurance

What condition would ever reach £7000 in three years?

Re: Cat Insurance

I did wonder what that was all about! I have spoken to them many times and their cover is more than enough, in my opinion they are the best insurers out there

Re: Cat Insurance

If your not happy with who you have chosen - aslong as you are within 14 days and your cats havnt had any illnesses come on yet then just cancel and go with Petguard - I set up 2 policies and cancelled both before going with petguard

Re: Cat Insurance

I can't decide between Animal Friends and Petguard... I've spoken to Animal Friends on the telephone so I know a bit more about them than Petguard, but then I read this thread and I'd like to consider Petguard (who are about £1.50 cheaper per month than Animal Friends)

Do Petguard pay direct to the vet? I know Animal Friends do.

What sort of amount would I have to pay the insurance company if I claim through Petguard? I know that Animal Friends is £49 (excess) + 35% of the claim.

What sort of excess options do I have with Petguard? I wasn't offered options in my quote...

I'm hoping someone that is with Petguard can help! Thanks!!

[edit] Also, Animal Friends has a lifetime claim limit... does Petguard have a limit too?
