Saggy Belly

Since reading Will562's thread on Pheobe's weight I have been seriously looking at Bella's belly! I have noticed that it hangs down a lot (sort of like an empty cow's udder) and is very saggy I even caught Theo examining it with his paws when she was lying down. Now I am panicking that she may have lost weight! Has anybody else got a kitten with a saggy pouch hanging down

Re: Saggy Belly

Is she spayed? Female cats often get saggy bellies when they have been spayed. My girl Rigsy is a bit saggy too, but she's definately not fat!

Re: Saggy Belly

Both males and females can have that sagging Fat Pad. It does not necessarily mean they are fat though. (I call it the Udder, ha)

For instance my one cat had hers when she came here from the shelter as a skinny 6 month old. Now she's almost six years old, and still has it, though she is not overweight and gets vigorous exercise every day.

Now another female, a rescued stray who had at least three litters before she came to me, has a funny pot belly, but no udder at all, her underside is very tight. She also is not overweight.

My current Red Boy cat is very slim, no udder, but my last Red Boy did have a slight udder.

Each cat is different.
