Re: Is Phoebe Fat?!

I would ask one of the BSH breeders on here. They are a heavy set breed. They have such a gorgeous plush coat too that can make them look bigger than they are.

Has she been spayed ? They tend to pile on weight after that, but it does eventually settle itself down.

In the picture where she is lying flat out they do seem to look bigger, I know poppy looks pudgy when she lies on her back.

Very lovely.

Re: Is Phoebe Fat?!

She does look a little bit on the heavy side, but nothing I'd worry too much about. Maybe the vet could weigh her and put your mind at rest? Or find out how much a 6month old should way. Then weigh yourself, then step on the scales holding her, you should be able to work out how much she weighs from knowing how much you weighed yourself compared to when holding her

Oh, I also don't like free feeding, I don't think its really neccesary. A few small meals throughout the day also gives them a routine!

I have 2 british shorthairs aged just under 7 months. My boy (Theo) is 5.2 Kg and my girl (Bella) is 3.25 Kg but I think she is a little on the small side. I feed them 3 pouches of Hi-Life between them and put Iams kitten dry down a couple of times a day also (when the bowl is empty I don't always immediately fill it again if I think they have had enough and are just being greedy. BSH are renowned for being a heavy breed but I do think it wise to regulate their intake of food a bit for health reasons
Hi

We have the same kittens practically. Ours were 6 months old on Saturday. Are yours related? I do feed mine more than you so maybe I will cut it down to 4 pouches between them a day + dry food.

Hi

Thanks for everyone's kind comments about Phoebe and Frank. Uploaded another video to youtube just now if you want to take a look. Bit of a long one though.

And also a video of phoebe from a while ago showing her beautiful eyes.

Mine are unrelated blue girl and cream colourpoint boy, both from same breeder and 9 days difference in age. Theo is so chilled out, a real lap cat and quite vocal. Bella is a little minx, full of mischief! Are yours very different in personality?

Re: Is Phoebe Fat?!

Hi

Thats cool, maybe yours are related way down the lines as sometimes breeders will use same cats from what I have seen. Have you looked at their pedigree?

Frank & Phoebe are very similar but very different as well. They are both interested in what you are doing and will follow you everywhere. They both love water including when the toilet flushes, and love to watch us washing up. Frank is a true lad! Very boisterous and chases Phoebe around. Loves to play fight. Phoebe is very gentle and loving, but Frank is loving too. Phoebe is always......hungry! She is also like a cuddly toy and sometimes squeaks when she jumps down from things!
