I am so sorry that things turned out this way for you. It seems as though vets don't give us sound advice anymore.
The bill seems steep to me too, but I really am not sure. Vet fees seem to have increased dramatically over the past few years. The total bill for Jasper was £99.15 we had a consultation fee at £58.01 as it was out of hours.
