On the subject of male torties..........someone i know's cat gave birth to 3 kittens (about 2/3 years ago) one black male and one tortie male. He was definately male and definately a tortie! Mum and dad were black. Merlins mum............i need your knowledge! LOL!! She didn't realise just how rare these cats are. So when i told her she was so shocked lol!

That's just gentically impossible - what a freak of nature - you have to have red somewhere to get a tortie - either mum or dad - but two black cats can't make a tortie - are they sure mum wasn't playing the field? - a litter of kittens can have two spearate fathers if she's been playing away!
