Litter trays

What do you all use? Kitty seems to have gone off his lidded tray and it does seem a little on the small side for him now so I started using a spare storage cratewe had lying around also Iv noticed he pees high so would probably pee right over the sides of standard trays!

Is a storage crate ok in the lingterm?I was thinking about buying him a larger one like this.. He seems to really like it! all that fresh air and headspace

Re: Litter trays

we started off with a small kitten tray then we bought a quicksand tray after nicky on here got one and said it was really good but we've found it really rubbish so am planning on ordering a hooded tray and then taking the quicksand tray back

Re: Litter trays

We brought Enzo home and threw him in the deep end with a Litter Kwitter.

I have to say... he makes me so proud!!!!! He is on the 'red' stage (he has to jump onto the Litter Kwitter which is on the toilet) and is doing absolutely fantastic!

Definitely recommended so far... I'll have to keep you updated with his progress and let you know when () he is actually using the toilet.

Poor Enzo getting flung in the deep end with a litter kwitter! It was just a figure of speech??

It's fine to use a storage crate long term - I've been using them for years & find them much more practical then a regular litter tray. I buy the rectangular ones that haven't got quite as high sides - they're plenty high enough to contain the litter unless you've got a really high kicker & it gives them so much more room. I've got moggies & 2 Ragdolls - they're big cats & the storage boxes are a much better size for them. My cats aren't keen on hooded trays & these are the ideal solution for mine.

Re: Litter trays

I just have your basic deep litter tray from Wilkinsons. Moving onto a hooded tray soon though

Re: Litter trays

I have every litter tray ever made in my house lol for my VERY fussy old cat.

She happily used a standard tray and just stopped one day

We moved trays around, changed litter, got a hooded tray, a bigger one, smaller one etc ....

She never ended up using any and I have simply got used to cleaning the bathroom floor every day

It's her favourite spot and no matter how many litter trays I place in the room she goes next to them

Anyway in my search for a litter tray that she will use I tried the plastic storage boxes and have never looked back!!

They are ideal for those that pee up the side on the litter tray, great at keeping the litter contained and have lots of space for big cats!
