Grow some catmint/catnip for your cats!

It's really easy to grow catmint, outdoors or indoors. Seeds are about £2 for a pack of 250

I grew twelve plants, kept one in a small pot, put four together in a larger pot and gave the rest to other cat owners.

Catmint has interesting effects on about two-thirds of cats (some just don't seem to care). When cats smell catmint they get 'high' and act playful/purry etc but when a cat eats catmint she'll get 'stoned' and soon decide it's time for a nap. Quite often the nap takes place lying on top of the plants

Luckily catmint is a tough old plant and will survive even the most vicious cat-attack. Has no problems surviving British winters outdoors too!

I did buy a load of seeds but havnt planted them yet.

And yes the plant is really easy to grow.

I did grow some but it got trashed! Not by my cat.... she's an abstainer... but everyone else's cats in the neighbourhood!

I grew some in the garden once. It was protected by a weighted down Sainsburys kids green house. My Mum told me once the plant was established it would be OK - NOT!!! When it filled its home, about 2ft square, I uncovered it. By the morning there was nothing left, just 2 dry sticks

and 3 cats that spent the whole day asleep - peace man!

I can't believe I haven't thought of growing any!!!

Gonna hve to get some seeds... can you get them from good garden centres etc?

I had some cuttings off a friend but managed
to kill them before planting lol
She game me some dried so i don't know
if there are any seeds in it all.

They did have the seeds in a branch of Wilko's near me
but i can't find them now. I will have to have a hunt.

Should be available at all good garden centres, and some rubbish ones as well ...
