Re: Monday Cattery Day

I would find it harder to have someone stranger in my house. Its based on trust and i wouldnt be able to gain that trust from an interview i think

well i came, house was a sh** hole all windows wide open (indoor cats)
all scratch posts moved, cats not allowed to sleep in my bedroom, cos she dint want fur up her nose!!!
My childs routine was all upset, to this day nearly 2 years i am still suffering the consequences!!
She had tried to palm my child onto a friend so she could tidy the house, YEAH RIGHT!
my daughters mencap worker said when she'd come to get summer, food was all over the worktop, My macy is lactose intollerant
bins not emptied.
i think she just did it for the money

so never again would i use a house sitter! it was just awful.

Re: Monday Cattery Day

OMG!! Thats awful. I would never of dreamt of letting anyone in my house to look after my lot, but the lady that comes in now I've known for a few years and as I said before had a wonderful cattery for 15 yr. If she ever stopped I don't know what i'd do, lol. I can't put mine in a cattery as we have 3breeding queens and they don't accept entires here.

And thats where the problem is...they might be nice and friendly people at the beginning but what they really up to when u are not there ....who really knows
A cattery is the better choice for me

it was a case of katie my friend who did it the previous year, with absolutely no problems, failed her uni exams, it was short notice, and i had to find some one or lose out on the holiday. this woman was known to 3 of my friends, professionally it all looked good!
from experience, i would now rather lose the holiday.

Re: Monday Cattery Day

Hi,

I have never used a cattery before because my neighbour is brilliant and loves the cats to bits. But for the first time ever, our holidays clash so I have booked them into a local cattery. To say Im nervous is an understatement, but the way I see it you have to do everything for a first time and the cats might enjoy it. Its only for a week but if it works well thats what we will do in the future.

Your house sitting experiences sound horrific, I like my privacy too much to let anyone in here lol.

Jo

Re: Monday Cattery Day

It is difficult finding the right cattery and even then when I found the right one I never enjoyed my holiday, I always counted the days down to get home.

I'd like to think my cat was happy and the new kitten will be happy in the cattery when circumstances arise.

I am in a fortunate position now as my parents used to pop down to see to Jasper as he got older and guess what, I still worried about him. I think its human nature when you genuinely care about them.

There
