I have to put my 2 cats into the cattery next week and they all require an up to date vaccination. What does up to date mean? We had our cats vaccinated about 5 months ago...is this then still up to date?

I believe it's within a year, as they're due boosters every year

Yeh it's their annual Vac's.. double check with your vet and take evidence of the vac's with you to the cattery.. I've got a litlle booklet thing for Alfie that the vet gave me to show all his jabs

As long as your cats have had their full primary course and have been regually boosted every year they will be fine

I would check with your vets, that they have had FeLv as well if their going into a cattery, better to be safe than sorry,

I agree with these posts, your cats are protected but check with your vets for additional advice.

Our vets will vaccinate accordingly to circumstances so the vaccine will not necessarily cover everything.

Once a cat has its first set of vaccinations they need a booster every year, which is referred to as being up dated.

Some people do think the first set of vaccines last a lifetime and that's understandable chldren's vaccines do except tetanus.

We got them vaccinated last time as they were going into a cattery too so i guess it will be the right vaccination. Called the Cattery today and they said it should be fine then.
I hate putting them into the cattery Feel kinda upset

I know what you mean, I used to put Jasper in a cattery until, my parents offered to pop down to see to him. Duke our dog also goes in Kennels he is too much for my parents.

My son who lives with us has offered to look after them both but he works shifts so its a bit awkward regular days would be better, I'm not sure but I think animals are creatures of habit.

On a positive note isn't it lovely when they greet you, I think it makes them appreciate their home.
