Re: Homemade cat toys??

I found a new toy from Marks and spencer They have indoor golf balls which are lightweight and covered in coloured material. About 6 in a pack and quite cheap. Golf shops probabley carry them also. My cat never stops chasing them and carrying them around. Best toy I ever bought and they last for ever.

Effie's Mummy will become famous soon enough
Re: Homemade cat toys??

We've spent around £30 on toys for Effie so far. And so far her favourites are the following:

Screwed up balls of paper (FREE)
Cardboard boxes (FREE)
Toilet roll tubes (FREE)
A paper bag (FREE)
Any bit of fluff, dust, or crumb on the floor (FREE)
Anything which dangles, such as the cord for the blinds (FREE)
The duvet cover (FREE)
Clothes left lying around (FREE)
Our hands and feet (FREE but painful)

:-D

Hopefully you get my point - no need to spend a fortune on toys as there's plenty of entertainment in household objects!!!

Re: Homemade cat toys??

our kitten's favourite toys are various crips packets rolled up and then tied in a knot, she has 3 at the moment because she carries them around and then hides them!

Red face Re: Homemade cat toys??

Some favourite toys in my house: wrappers, socks, things your reading, toilet roll tubes, feathers, things on strings, rugs, leaves, bugs in the garden, boxes, laces, an old collar with a bell on, hairi scrunchies, cuddly toys
My ex spent loads of money on cat toys when we got a new kitten, and i told him she'd never touch them lol. He soon learnt :P
Her favourite toy at the moment is a cardboard box that ive stuck loads of different feathers to (its also very handy for stashing the above 'toys' when shes not playing with them)

Re: Homemade cat toys??

I got a big cardboard box, covered it in like a fleecy felt material from ebay cost £2 for like 4 meters!
Cut a hole in the front, and the top and they love it!
Dalia hides things in there! Like £20 notes, sock, underware! Just whatever she finds lying about the house!

I also had a spare ball of wool, boy did that go down well! It was big chunky wool and they loved it! I pleated bits of it and they carry it around by those bits and have a lil tug of war!

Also we got a bag of cat nip and made felt fishes!

I prefer to make my own toys! If you make them yourself and they dont last long you know why but if you buy them from a shop and pay loads for them its anoying when they break and with 4 cats in the house we go through toys like my cats go through food! FAST!
