Re: Cat food spin off...

I'm starting to think (apart from meat content) that whiskas can not be that bad. They are actually a complete food, and the company they work with to sort out the nutrition is Waltham who work with others-like Royal Canin. I have tried them with hi life and natures menu and they just do not want it. For now I'll stick to whiskas!

Yes this exactly what i meant, thankyou x

Re: Cat food spin off...

I am considering trying the raw food for Missy.
She is heavily pregnant though so can I start now or would it be best to wait till she's had and nursed the kittens?

Re: Cat food spin off...

Well it's getting better, we've just persisted and mixed the natures menu with their whiskas. I don't think they liked the fact there was nothing to lick off/chew really. So we've mixed it, so they have 50/50 now! I don't think they'll like natures menu on it's own, but we're happy this way!

Re: Cat food spin off...

some is better than none - keep persisting it will get better - it's taken me 6 months to get Minnii to eat raw and today she chose it over cosmo (like applaws) - I'm well chuffed!

Kalipha will become famous soon enough
Re: Cat food spin off...

I got lucky, Lily took to it instantly. So far lamb, beef and chicken are all hits and it's rabbit up next and they all disappear in seconds. Maybe I have a really not-fussy kitten, she'll eat any dry too, moved onto Orijen from RC without a blackward glance.

Re: Cat food spin off...

I just put down two plates in front of my 6x6 weeks old gannets.

I know they need to try commercial cat food so one plate was Whiskas rabbit supermeat - the other was raw beef mince from Prize Choice.

One plate's licked clean! -the beef of course

Re: Cat food spin off...

I just put just natures menu down, and they ate it

We've been mixing it with whiskas for a while, and having it as 50/50. We've still got 24 pouches of whiskas, so we'll continue to do that, knowing that they'll be fine on just natures menu. We got 4 box's from pets at home of natures menu, now have 1 1/2 left and the first two must have been from an older batch as they looked and felt different. They much prefer the newer ones-seems moister!
