Going on Holiday

Hi All

Im planning a holiday to Florida for 2 weeks next March.
But I realised earlier that my girls will be old enough to be calling.

We are going to have a house sitter for 2 weeks and want it the work for the sitter to be as minimal as possible. I also want to try and avoid the girls screaming the house down - or worse still developing pyometra.

Should I give the girls the homeopathic stuff "Platina" before I go? If so, at what point should I give it to them before I go? And how long will it last?
Or would I be best to give them Ovarid?

Or any other suggestions will also be welcome

Thanks!!

Re: Going on Holiday

There is an injection that you can get from your vets to stop them calling, but depends when you want to breed from them. It can stop them calling for several months though. As it's March you might get away with them not calling much anyway. There is also a spray called Feliway, thats good for keeping cats calm. We use it for travelling to shows ect. You spray it in the rooms or the cat carriers ect. There is also a plug in version.

I would steer clear of the jab,my friends cat had it and it messed her fertility up for a very long time...
