Exactlty my concern, for the money it costs to buy this product you could make secure outside houses and runs, and go out for the day and leave your babies out and not spend the day worrying that they are doing "monkey bars"and escaping and running free.

Do you have cats and dogs that dont get on then?

If i had an enclosure like this is think it is ideal if you are going to be out with them, saves you not having to put harness on, once they are used to it you can put them out while you are about, i wouldnt leave my cat out in any enclosure while im out all day at work or anything like that anyway. I guess its a question as to what you want it to do.

I've had my garden enclosed with purrfect fencing for 2yrs and never had a cat inside or escape out and they have access 24 hrs a day. Harry the havana gave escaping a good go and tried several times, very unsuccessfully I might add, when the fence first went up, but has now completely given up trying.

I want to be able to leave the cats out in good weather un supervised, all my cats and dogs live together happily, but cant guarantee my cocker wouldnt have a chew at the plastic mesh,or dig huge holes around base.I think for me id prefer solid enclosures with roofs,it all depends on your circumstances.I have 14 cats so walking out on harnesses is not practicle,i like them to relax and sunbathe and birdwatch.and me not have to worry about dylan trying to dig/chew them out!but thats just me and im a worrier.

Re: Purr-fect fencing

You get 2 sorts of mesh with it. The first a plastic flexible mesh then the second is rodent teeth proof, your "critter guard". That goes around the bottom and is dug into the earth. Its supposed to keep ground hogs out! Definitely never seen one of those in my garden

Re: Purr-fect fencing

In that case any kind of fencing you put up is going to be in trouble unless you bury it several feet into the ground!

Re: Purr-fect fencing

At least two people in this thread are assuming I would leave a cat out all day/night without shelter????!!!!!! or a means to getting to shelter?

Cat runs have their place but if I can successfully secure my garden so that I can let cats out in safety while I am in the house I would rather they had the run of a quite large garden. But that is just my take on it.

Not at all,no one has said anything about this,we are simply giving our opinions on this subject, which is what these threads are for.It wasnt even you that started the thread,so why do you think we are assuming your situation??
