I was planning on Ollie wearing a collar incase he were to be outdoors, also im having him microchipped on the 15th and they give you a blue tag to put on the existing collar so that under any circumstances necessary they know to scan him. Unfortunatly he tries to 'kill' the collar resulting in many back flips and rolls, I keep taking it off as soon as he shows discomfort as i dont want him to get stressed. I do have a kitten safety collar so if he does catch it, it immediatly releases to stop strangulation. Im not too sure how to go about this one
Havent even looked at the replies to this post, but I would say DON'T DO IT!, unless you want a permanent bald patch around your cats neck. Don't care what anyone else says on it but I've seen what they do and it doesnt grow back

awwww yeh Alfies brilliant on his now.. he walks on the lead really well! I dont take him far at all as I'm scared of dogs being off their leads.. (which I see often.. and it annoys me alot!)

Just take him out so he can get some fresh air

Re: Introducing a collar

Yeah, harnesses are a diffo thing altogether, a way of getting outside without being harmed and the straps can also be took off the cats body after. I think this is a brill way of letting cats that have the urge to go outdoors to actually do that, also not having to be permanently collared causing a bald ring around the neck. A nice way forward!

yeh, I'm not a fan of collars!

Alfie only wears the harness when I go to my parents as he likes to play in the garden!
