Re: Introducing a cat outised

You can buy cat proof fencing for £500 which will cover 100 linear feet.

Re: Introducing a cat outised

It's $1000, working out to around five hundred. We're planning to do our garden in sections, but we're so broke at the moment it will have to wait until later in the year!

Re: Introducing a cat outised

While I understand that some people don't want to let their cat outside, it doesn't necessarily make you a bad pet owner if you decide to let your cats out.

All of mine have been rehomed with me and were used to going outside before that, they love being outside. In the summer its great to see them asleep in their favourite place in the sun and playing in the snow in winter. Yes there are risks but so is everything in life.

I think it depends on where you live, traffic, people and then make a decision.

They most certainly should be. If all the chip companies had this as required policy the vets would all do it and customers would soon get used to the idea.

These don't sound like registered breeders to me.
Bengal studs can cost a couple of thousand pounds and queens can cost between a thousand and two thousand pounds. It doesn't makes sense that someone would pay that sort of money then allow the stud out to contract FIV, or fertilise the local moggy with his pedigree sperm. Same with the queen - why would the queen be allowed to wander free to be impregnated by other boys, possibly carrying diseases?
Having pedigree queens with access to the outdoors is entirely possible if one uses Ovarid. I did it for years. The time you have to be careful, obviously, is when the queen is coming off Ovarid and you are waiting for her to call again.

Disagree as far as pedigree's go-as well as paying a lot for your cat/kitt-i as a breeder/slave would want to make sure i wasn't taking any unnecessary risks with my cat, of contracting any diseases,or spreading the blood to any old Tom or risking him/her in general-as i'm sure any reputable breeder would discuss before allowing anyone to adopt the cat/kitt-i as part of a breeding family if i had a second thought that a perspective slave was even considering this i would politely explain that our cats/kitts were not for them imo-dunno for sure but i would have thought the same would apply for BengalsHaving said this a lady who lives in a small, rural village is slave to a Siamese, whom wanders and hitches rides thru the village and goes for walks with his Dalmatian sibling-but everyone knows him and his slave and it is very rural,he did get catnapped to order once-but thanks to a microchip,a decent vet and luck he was safely returned

Traffic is never that far away, neither are thiefs.............only one thing to say on this subject, if you have got a valuable cat, take it out on a leash or KEEP IT INSIDE!!!!!!!!!! unless you want one squashed kitty, stolen kitty, flea ridden kitty, fox eaten kitty, savage dog mauled kitty,.............need I say anymore
