Can/Will a male cat live with a male baby he has produced

Help me please

Our female has given birth to 3 kittens they are currently 5 weeks old, The daddy cat lives with us too and has on two occasions attempted to bite one of the kittens around the throat. He also seems to stalk the kittens when we allow him into the room where the mum and babies are (only when supervised).

I read on the internet that a male cat will not normally attack his own babies is this true?

Can a male cat live with one his offspring?

The kittens are 2 girls and 1 boy and we would like to keep the boy, we have good homes already for the girls with other members of our family.

The daddy cat in question was neutered 7-8 weeks ago and the mummy is being spayed as soon as her babies are big enough

Regards Garry

I 'fixed' male cat can live with his son or daughter.

But you really need to get your male neutered.

Re: Can/Will a male cat live with a male baby he has produced

You shouldn't have a problem once all of your males testosterone dies down.

But habits die hard lol!

If you want to keep the boy kitten, keep him, just watch your male around the kittens. I personally didn't let my other cats around the kittens without my supervision until they moved down stairs at between 4-5 weeks of age.

It might well take him a little while to grow used to him. It could be a case of introducing the kitten to your boy.
