I'd be having second and third and fourth thoughts about someone so unreliable. What will happen when it's time to have this kitten spayed? The car will break down or some other emergency will prevent her from bringing the cat to the vet for her spay, her shots, any health care she might need, etc.

I'd scratch her off the list, now.

I agree, she doesn't seem to committed, and there is at least 15 years of this kitten needing a reliable home. I personally wouldn't give it to her.. Maybe you should keep her,
