Re: used cat litter
I scoop frequnetly, menaing several times a day (three cats four boxes) into plastic grocery bags that have been doubled up. I dump ansd scrub once a week. When the bag is about half full I put it in the trash barrell, and all goes to the dump once a week.
I would not recommend putting used cat litter in a compost pile. |

Re: used cat litter
Depends on litter used. Some are definitely compostable - should say on packet.
However I stick wee clumps in green bin. Poo I stick in black bin or down toilet (depends on litter because cat attract I reckon would block a loo) |

Re: used cat litter
I use nappy sacks to scoop poop and wet into as and when needed, then every few days or so empty the lot into the house hold bin, take that straight to black bin and clean the tray by hosing it down with the pressure hose.
I have two cats but one tray, they share very well, no probs at all Mostly though Teddy goes outside anyway. Pepper can't yet. |

Re: used cat litter
I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to put used cat litter in the garden waste bin. I use dog poo bags - scoop the poop or wee into them, tie in a knot & chuck in the normal household waste bin.

Re: used cat litter
If I use World's Best I put it down the loo but if it's catsan or wood pellets then I put them in nappy sacks and in the black bins.
The owner of the pet store said that you can put the wood pellets down the loo as well but I'm not so sure?? I have only used them since yesterday and only got them as that is what the breeder said to use as that is what Charlie and Lola had been litter trained with. I was intending on changing back to World's Best or Catsan but I am actually quite impressed so far. It dissolves into sawdust when wet and doesn't smell at all. And it was only £8 for a 20 litre bag. Does anyone else use these and flush? Sharon x

Re: used cat litter
I use Yesterday's News. I scoop the poop as and when one is done, into a nappy sack then in the bin. I then empty the whole tray out every other day and clean the tray and lid etc. Sometimes I do it every day, just depends how much they've done and what they've done.
