another question...food bowls

Do cats prefer ceramic, plastic, metal or don't mind? I hate eating in plastic or metal and i'm wondering if some cats feel the same way. What kind of bowls do your pets have?

I'm sorry raise so many questions recently but Xito will be home soon and i want to have only the best for him

Re: another question...food bowls

I read something about them preferring metal or ceramic - for the same reasons we dont like drinking our water out of plastic cups!

Not only that when plastic gets scratched it can hold bacteria which will be going into the water

Yep it states on there about holding germs

Plastic Bowls
Although plastic bowls are generally sturdy, they have a couple of downsides. First, many cats have an allergy to plastic, and develop a skin condition on their chins, resembling acne. Second, plastic tends to nick and scratch, and those tiny fissures become a breeding ground for germs. My recommendation is to avoid plastic if at all possible.

I've got plastic ones, but they get new bowls every 4/5 months, and they're quite happy... as long as there's food in them

Yes as long as they are not old with loads of scratches it will be fine i guess.
Replacing them frequently is a good idea - although financially might be cheaper to buy ceramic or metal so they dont have to be replaced all the time? LOL
