Re: What killed my cat?

I'm so sorry, that's awful.

He was a real cutie but yes it does look like the fox. Although they stay away from older cats I'm sure they could and would kill a youngster if they were hungry.

Re: What killed my cat?

Foxes will take what they can if small enough and im sure there would be a few able to scale a fence if hungry. They struggle getting food now and will take what they can. Im so sorry as this must have been awful for you. Id be distraught if it were mine.

Re: What killed my cat?

Hey everyone, just thought i would update the thread with a photo of his sister that i picked up yesterday!

She's really cute and just like her brother, playful but not aggressive she's a bit longer and with sharper claws? Is that because she is a girl?

Again, thanks for the kind words from everyone, means alot to me. It's the first kitten/cat that i've owned that has been killed, the other 2 ran away after a few years.

I just couldn't stop crying yesterday and this morning even though i'm a 25 year old man! I never knew it was going to be this tough. I woke up this morning expecting him to be lying outside my room like he always did, but reality quickly set in.

Also, last night was pretty freaky. Just before i went to bed, i pulled back the net on the kitchen door and there it was, sitting right over the same spot where i found my little ones remains, a dirty evil looking urban fox looking straight at me. I don't know what to do about him, if he's going to be lurking around all the time i may have to call someone to get rid of him.

Thanks again,

Martin

Re: What killed my cat?

You could get in touch with the council but try not to blame the fox too much, they are only trying to survive. Just make sure your new baby doesn't get out until she's big enough to defend herself.
