Re: so many brands of cat food

There are a number of high meat content food that you can obtain from zooplus. Mine eat Bozita - look at the contents - most of the 'premium hig quality' foods are exactly that.

I feed mine (adult cats) twice a day. No grazing though I leave out the wet I give them til it is gone.

I think that probably timing and routine is important. They do get to know when it is food time and that is up to you to set that routine. I do supplement with raw (usually at night - and I leave that out til gone). Raw gets put down 2 - 3 times a week and it includes bone - which 2 love to crunch)

I do get up at the weekends to feed the cats - routine! - then go back to bed lol

Kittens are different - that is why I adopted adults

Anything that looks good really Almo Nature, Porta21, Boos, Animonda, Cosma (although they have stopped doing the turkey one everyone really liked), Animonda, Defu Organic ( like to buy more of that but its too expensive for loads), Yarrah. Then odd bits of the others if the flavours look interesting for a change.

Re: so many brands of cat food

I leave dry out for mine. With 9 its too expensive to feed decent wet food exclusively.
I give Orijen free feeding, Porta21 once a day(nice big tins!!) and a bottle of cat milk every other day.
The best rule is to find the food with the highest meat content and the lowest additives that you can afford IMO.

Smile Re: so many brands of cat food

I've never heard of Porta21, could you tell me what it is and where you buy it? I started on Butchers because it's cheap and hasn't got any cereal in it, because I read it's unnatural to give cats cereal. Mine seem OK on Butchers and it seems to be the only tinned brand without cereal and chemicals that doesn't cost a fortune. It must be expensive feeding nine cats, whatever you buy, thank goodness I only have three.

Re: so many brands of cat food

You can buy it at zooplus

However all the food on zooplus is more expensive than Butchers Classic. (And if you bulk buy you have to have room to store it)

Re: so many brands of cat food

My cats eat wet food(only pouch they wont touch canned stuff) and i always have dry food down also for inbetween feeds, but they can litteraly chance their preferance from week to week whiskas is pretty much a no go same as hilife and any other expensive brands.
felix as good as usually goes down well but more expensive and weirdly tescos own brand.
Not to mention the titbits..chicken,maybe cheese, tuna etc.
I swear the cats eat better than i do.

Re: so many brands of cat food

Pets at home have Applaws on three for the price of two at the moment.

My Raggies lovw Applaws, they also like the |Pearl pouches with gravy. I too like to give them a good variety of dry food too with James Wellbeloved and Natures Best by Hills.
