Angry No pedigree

Hi, i was just wondering how long is acceptable to wait for your pedigree?
I have 2 cats from the same breeder , i had one sept 06 and the other feb 07.
Despite asking on numerous occasions for them iam still waiting. I dont breed from them but i do show so it would be nice to know who their ancesters where.
I last spoke to the breeder about a month ago she said she would photo copy mom and dads pedigree so i could do my own. Ive not even had that!
Do you think its about time i contacted the gccf about this. I dont really want to get her into trouble but theres only so much asking you can do. Isnt it against there rules not to supply a pedigree at the time of sale?

Re: No pedigree

I found this on their site General Code of Ethics for Cat Breeders and Owners

Quote:
10a. When a cat or kitten is advertised or sold as a pedigree cat or kitten the breeder shall, at the time of sale, provide the purchaser with a properly completed pedigree signed by the breeder, carrying 3 generations at least, showing all the breed numbers and registration numbers, also the breeder's name and address.
Seeing as that states at the time of sale, I think you have been very patient.

There is absolutely no reason why you could not have been given the pedigree at the point of sale, as these are made out by the breeder not the gccf. Ok the pink slip may follow on after neutering, etc. but you should get the ped right away rolleyes:

Re: No pedigree

I would say your well overdue your pedigree's
I would ask her one more time and say if you don't get them you feel you will have no alternative but to get in contact with the GCCF for them to sort this out

Re: No pedigree

I am a breeder of Ragdolls,
ALL Pedigree papers are given the day the kittens are collected, 13wks, pink slips are withheld, there is no reason that i can see, that you have not had them, you should give her 1 more wk, and tell her you will report her to the GCCF if you have not received them, as that is not the ethics of the GCCF. as the other post said,
It dont take that long to get them printed off on computer or hand writen once you get started.

Re: No pedigree

Thanks for your thoughts, Iam going to see her at the midland counties show in 4 weeks time, if i give her a ring a couple of days before it should give her time for her to get them sorted and she can bring them with her to the show. If she doesnt bring them i'll just have to ring the gccf and let them sort it.

Re: No pedigree

By jingo, I wouldn't even wait another week - just contact the GCCF on Monday, then tell her what you have done and why. As Kim very succinctly says, you have already been very patient and it is clearly written in the GCCF code.

Re: No pedigree

I don't understand why the Breeder didn't give you the Pedigree! Also she had to do was type it up and print it! Not hard. I would have asked for it at the time of sale. Trust No One! I hate to say it but I don't think you're ever gonna get it!
