Re: persian or ragdoll kittens

I have a Ragdoll.

I paid 375 for her which was GCCF registered NON ACTIVE meaning that she had to be neutered before 12 months.

This included her being vaccinated and micro-chipped and she came complete with lots of little goodies so overall I was pleased with this.

It really does depend on what area you are in and if the breeder is a reputable breeder or not.

Some backyard breeders will sell them cheaper but they will normally not be vaccianted and the parents are generally un-registered cat that have no health tests and are not suitable for breeding.

Like a previous poster mentioned it also depends on what you want the kitten for as show and breed prices are higher.

Hope this helps.

Re: persian or ragdoll kittens

Hi

For Ragdoll kits - the TBRCC recommends the following "guide" prices

Pet £375
Show Neuter £375 - £400
Breeding Queen £550 - £800
Show/ Breeding Queen £650 - £800
Show/Stud Potential £650 - £800

These will vary a little from region to region but will give you a good idea of the costs from a registered breeder. If you are paying a lot less than this then you need to ask why!

If you decide on a Raggie kitten you can visit www.tbrcc.co.uk and go to the Kittens Availability page - that will give you a list of kittens available and where they are with contact details.

Re: persian or ragdoll kittens

I have 9 GCCF registered persians, ranging in age from 2 to 15. Some that I've had have been ex-breeding girls and I've had several rescue persians too. My youngest was £300 two years ago, she was about 14 weeks old when she came to me and was fully vaccinated, not breed or show quality, but still beautiful in my eyes!

Re: persian or ragdoll kittens

Don't a lot of persians and ragdolls need adopting all the time because people don't seem to realize they need brushing and stuff and find them hard work so get rid of them?

Something I would suggest is if you look at one see them getting brushed, some are really bad with it and if it's your first its easier to get one that is used to it or likes it. My mums persian, Misty runs a mile if she sees the brush. She will only let me do it and only if she is sleepy and had lots of cuddles, I have to be really gentle though or she will attack me. Luckily she is very good at keeping herself unknotted. Amazing really, she always looks like shes been brushed really well except under her chin, she sometimes gets little knots there.

These are registered and cheap but not fully vaccinated. It gets quite confusing.
