millie the kitten is ready to be picked up next week

she will only be 6 1/2 weeks old and the seller told me she is doing really well, eating solids, drinking and using the litter tray. I know it is advisable to leave her with mummy cat til 8 weeks but do you think she will be ok to bring home next week?

If you are asking for an opinion, as a breeder I woud say 12 weeks minimum so there! But i do realise most moggs leave home at 8 weeks

Not sure about non-pedigree cats but like Saynamore, I normally only let my girls' babies leave after they have had full vaccinations after 13 weeks'.

The benefit of this is that kittens are fully weaned, toilet trained, vaccinated, given full worming treatment and all health issues are sorted before they go to their new homes.

she is not coming from a breeder as such. she is one of a accidental litter. she will be womed and flea'd and i will get her vacinations done when she is old enough.

Re: millie the kitten is ready to be picked up next week

I had my moggie at 9weeks old, now hes 10weeks old. Also eating solids, drinking plenty and using a litter tray, I have him booked in tomorrow for his first injection. Hes doing fantastic, If you want to see pics im about to upload some new on his thread. Im not sure about a 6 1/2week kitty though sorry. Never even seen them going at that age.

Re: millie the kitten is ready to be picked up next week

I would say 8 weeks is the youngest a kitten should leave its mother, 6 1/2 weeks is much too young in my opinion.
