Constipated Old Cat

My 15 year-old cat recently became constipated and was straining to go. So I added two teaspoons of tinned pumpkin mashed in with his food and he improved right away! So, I'd recommend this to anyone who has a cat in a similar predicament.

Good advice. Are you in US? - 'cos I dont think we have it here in UK, I mean tinned. I wonder wether it will be the same home cooked?

Re: Constipated Old Cat

I live in the UK and had quite a problem finding tinned pumpkin until I eventually sourced it in Waitrose in Peterborough. It is the Libbys brand. It's bright orange but the colour soon blends with when I mixed it with Whiskas Supermeat!

Re: Constipated Old Cat

Some American cat-owners recommended pumpkin as a cure for cat constipation and so I thought I'd give it a try and, as I said, it definitely worked.
