Re: Do your cats wear collars

Mine wear them, and no the bells don't make a difference to how many presents they bring! Stupid birds! lol
Both cats have lost a collar since we moved here, Milo had a lovely black collar with an elastic bit and came home oneday without it, a lady brought it round saying it was in her vegetable path and thankyou to milo for scaring off the blackbird after her rasps! He had got caught and snapped the elastic.
Maisy got her quick snap collar caught on a bit of chicken wire.

I check their collars regularly, if Maisy's quick snap one is getting a bit still I get her a new one. Milo's replacement collar is just a cheap one from the pet shop and you just need to look at it and it will fall off.

Re: Do your cats wear collars

The RSPB did a study not so long ago about this:

The RSPB: Environmental and process research: Cats and collars: reducing predation rates

I bought one of the sonic collars they recommended but it had a quick-release catch and she learnt how to leave it behind. It would still beep every seven seconds, so we could find it again, but every other day she would come back naked again so we went back to the bell.

Re: Do your cats wear collars

None of my 5 cats wear collars. They're all microchipped & are indoor cats. I tried with my first two when they were kittens, but couldn't get them to keep them on so gave up!
