Question eating behavior

My female cat developed a really weird way of eating.
The cat dishes are standing in the kitchen and what she does is she takes one biscuit out the dish, brings it to the livingroom (which is right beside the kitchen) and drops it there on the carpet and then she eats it. I didnt bother much about it first but now she does it with the wet food as well and it stains the carpet after a while. She does it now since about 3 weeks or so. What is wrong with her lol

Re: eating behavior

Its probably just her way, some of mine drag it out the bowl, another tosses it up in the air and catches, then eats it!

Re: eating behavior

I had 2 rescue cats and one of them used to pick up the food out the bowl and drop it on the floor at the bottom of the stairs and meow.

Must be thinking she bought us (or her sibling) a pressie!!

Re: eating behavior

A couple of our girls do this with wet food but if i was to put it on the floor for themThey'd look at me disgusted as much to say"How very dare you..I Am NOT eating that" or "Oops someones dropped food on the floor, can ya like clean it up asap"Maybe get like a mat to put where she favors dropping her pinched goods-it may help with carpet staining

Re: eating behavior

Is she an only cat? My cats do this if they feel like someone is going to take the food away from them.

Re: eating behavior

no, i have got 2 cats...she just seems to do it during the day when she has her peace. When I give them dinner in the evening she waits for so long until the male cat finishes eating and then she eats the rests lol
