My Cat Is In Labour Now!! Help!

Hi.. my cat went into labour his morning.. she was meowing like crazy all night.. and was so unsetttled not getting comfy.. I finally got her to settle in her birthing box.. but woe betide if i leave her. Its like me and my shaddow!! She is a lot more rested now.. she is panting with her mouth open and breathing quickly.. about half an hour ago she passed an orangey/yellowy clear discharge, which she cleaned up.. I just want to know how long i should expect her to be like this before a kitten arrives??

Thanks

Amanda and a panting ruby!!

xx

Re: My Cat Is In Labour Now!! Help!

Yeah its her first litter. We had her booked in to be spayed when the vet announced she as pregnant!!

Shes very chilled out and has even let me nip away for a toilet stop and to make a cuppa!! When i got back our tom cat was with her cleaning her.. very sweet and she didnt seem to mind.. but he's been dispatched back out to the waiting area!! (he's not the dad.. we got him spayed a while ago!!)

She has started pushing now.. and making the odd meow.. but no sign of anything.. how long should she push for??

Re: My Cat Is In Labour Now!! Help!

pushing time can vary, you only need to worry if shes been pushing for a long time without any signs of a kitten coming good luck and keep us posted xx

how long has she been pushing for?

Re: My Cat Is In Labour Now!! Help!

The first kitten in a litter usually takes the longest to make an appearance, however if she is pushing really hard and/or showing signs of distress then you may need to contact your vet as she may require some help.

Is there anything showing at her end yet when she pushes - like a bubble?

Re: My Cat Is In Labour Now!! Help!

Two very cute black kittens have arrived.. i think another one is on its way as she keeps shifting her position and she still looks pretty round to me, and does like like shes still pushing.. She did follow me out of the room and left them when i left the room.. but went straight back to them when i took her back in..

Any advice welcome!!

Thanks to you guys who were asking!! xx
