Is raw mince a good meat to start with?

Fluffy's never had raw before but I've bought a big load of beef mince to make bolognaise and was thinking of giving him some. Would it be ok do you think?

Kiskasiberians will become famous soon enough
Re: Is raw mince a good meat to start with?

Sure, no problem with that as long as you are still feeding other food as well. Human mince does not have the right combination of bone, meat and offal for a complete diet.

Yes it's fine. Some love it, some won't touch it until it's cooked. Funny little buggers.

Hmmmm he didn't like that! Just dropped it around the floor but didn't eat it, so I had to give him normal food!

I'm starting mine off on the road to raw feeding with beef mince and bits of cheap rump steak when it's on offer cut into small pieces.

Tigger was on a purely Whiskas diet when he first came to me 4 weeks ago and didn't like fresh meat at all. I put a few chunks of meat in with his Whiskas or other commercial food and he ate it all no problem! The juice from tuna is also very good to disguise the meat to start with.

Defrosted some steak bits for him the other day and he ate them neat with real enthusiasm!! Only trouble was he overdid it (well, my fault really!) and promptly presented me with a big pile of cat vomit. I won't be making that mistake again

I'm sure it won't be long before Fluffy enjoys raw too!!
