For sale websites

I am struggling to find a website that has local listings (north west), any ideas? I am looking for a kitten but they all seem to be gone by the time I ring.

Why is it some kittens are like £15 each and others are £200? I know pedigree are more expensive but I just don't get how some are so cheap??

Re: For sale websites

For around my area it is totally terrible.

I looked for MOGGIE kittens and people were trying to sell them for £100. I think its because some people try to say torties and tabbys are more valuable. But even at that there was people trying to sell even black and white moggies for £80 quid. Some people say its so they can find good homes which is fair enough but i think £80-£100 quid is just money making.

You have to be carefull with online adds aswell because (if your looking for a pedigree) they may say "pure bred raggdoll" but they might be a cross ragdoll (i know someone this happened too, they show me and my isster a picture and we were like "that is not a ragdoll!". If your getting a pedigree make sure you get pappers if you dont know the breeder.

The only thing that would be rare about a ginger kitten is a female ginger. Or with torties a rare tortie would be a male. If it stated "female ginger" or "male tortie" then maybe id understand the high price but even at that there would be no point cause they would more than likely be sterile. so why sell them at that price.

Its rediculus. I remember a woman came into the shop i worked at with adds for her kittens "3 litters, £40 per kitten" We were like, thats alot of kittens and she was like "yes the money will go towards my females getting spayed" so I was like "so i take it you've kept your females indoors now then"

She turned round and said "oh no, they get outside, but its okay no other cats come into our garden because of the dog" My face turned bright red and i was like "but surely they will still get pregnent, a determined cat on heat will climp fences to get to where she wants to be" and she was liek "oh no i love my cats, i wouldnt let them get pregnant again"

THREE times she came into the shop "3 litters, £60 each" I was like "the price has went up?" and she said AGAIN "oh but the monies going towards my cats getting spayed"

I was so mad but when you work in a shop you cant be rude to people. I refused to put her adds up and reported her to the SSPCA. Money making people make me so mad.

Sorry, ive totaly hijacked this thred, sorry i just needed a wee rant. I wont talk of it any more :P

You should try local pet shops? or vets? sometimes they will have adds up. Also try local shelters and stuff, CP are really good when it comes to kittens.

GOD!! The amount of times I have heard that one!! I could money for a million cats getting spayed!!

That is the type of people that I really dislike!

I was also taken in by someone and sold a 'pedigree kitten with papers' ........turned out to be a cross and a VERY ill one at that

Some people just dont give a toss.

moggies are around £35-70 around here, all blacks tend to go for £10 sometimes!

Whites just moggies can go for £200/250! Crosses I have seen for £300-400???? You can get a ped for that?! Crazy!

As for places to look, kittenlist, preloved, pets4homes, kittymaina, kittenads, oodle?

Re: For sale websites

@OP have you tried places like Gumtree and Preloved? Probably not the best but they usually have kittens for rehoming on there, there should be a local gumtree and you canset preloved to show adverts nearest to you.

Hope this helps

Peace
