Re: coming of age

From most things i've read there classed as kitten up to about 12 months, then as a junior till there about 2 - 2 1/2 years, then an adult (prime) then from about 7/8 i believe its seniour then its something else but i cant remember the name for it from about 11/12. Could be wrong but thats what i think it is roughly. xx

Re: coming of age

Food packaging for kittens food says up to 12 months old. But IMO this is just a ploy to keep you paying for more expensive food for an extra 3 months. From a gccf showing point of view, any cat over 9 months old is classed as an adult. Any cat under 9 months must be shown as a kitten. hope this helps! xx

I agree maybe with slow maturing breeds it might be better to keep them on kitten foods Ragdoll,Maine coon, NFC etc.

Re: coming of age

Id say about 12 months?

BUT Some cats mature slowly and are kitten still at 3 years old!

Depends on the cat/breed etc

Very fair point. Maturity will definatly vary from breed to breed. Just like in people I guess. But we're still all considered adults at 18 (despite the fact that my 20 years old brother can barely tie his own shoe laces!) xx

Re: coming of age

when they reach a year old they are officially cats. However, they can remain kittens for a very long time

Re: coming of age

12 months is what I thought, despite my little Lola having kittens when she was only 6 months old. Her previous owners weren't overly responsible!
However we wouldn't have Mani aswell, so every cloud...
