Honey in for the op.

Well, young Sunny Honey is in for a snip and chip tomorrow It's been a long time (12 years) since we had a girl done. Do they still use stitches or is it all glue now? Might slow her down a bit. She's running poor Dexter ragged

Re: Honey in for the op.

She is just so lovely
When Ruby was done 2 weeks ago they used dissolvable stitches so she wouldn't have to go back-they did advise me to put a buster collar on her for 3 days but didn't use it in the end as she left her wound alone

Re: Honey in for the op.

I was told it depends on the uterus! I had both internal disolvable ones & external ones that I needed to return to get removed.

She'll be fine. She'll be climbing the walls by tea time.

PS She's bloody gorgeous!!!

Re: Honey in for the op.

How they spay depends on the vet really. I have had flank spays with stitches and midline spays with stitches that needed removal and ones done with a dissolvable running stitch. I much prefer the latter, it makes for a much neater job and it heals alot quicker too.

Re: Honey in for the op.

When we had Ivy done they used disolvable internal stitches and glued up the outside so she had nothing to pull at. It worked well, she completely left the wound alone. Within minutes of being home she was charging round like an absolute loon!!!

Honey is absolutely beautiful, are her and Dex getting on OK??
