Broken leg??

Before I say anything, I'll just let you all know that I DEFINITELY plan to take her to the vet! They're just not open yet!

Sophie (the mom cat I'm fostering) is limping! It's almost more than limping.. She won't even put her left paw on the ground! Only a little every now and then.. I looked and there were no cuts or anything.. I bend her arm by the elbow and wrist to see if it was with her joints but nothing.. then i found one spot on her bone that upsets her if I touch.

I think she hurt herself! I have no idea how!.. She's laying next to me right now with her little tail wagging

Re: Broken leg??

Oh dear poor thing - let us know how she gets on - I am fostering a Mummy cat and her 4 kittens. She is getting a bit crate crazy and is climbing all over it to get out - perhaps yours has twisted her leg in a crate, if she's crated ...

Keeps us posted. Clare

Re: Broken leg??

We have a little kitten who's limping, she's going to the vets tonight too.

She's running around with the others still, albeit limping and holding one of her front paws up.

We assume that she jumped down from the side and hurt herself but I'm hoping that it isn't a break

Re: Broken leg??

I had a kitten once, well he was around 6/7 months and I found him meowing outside, he was very withdrawn and limping like your girl.

We took him to the Vet and he had broken his hip. I have no idea how he done it but it was a nightmare. He had to have an operation and then he was secluded in a small area of the house so he wouldn't walk around much.

He was fine in the end but is nature changed dramatically. Which made me wonder if someone hard hurt him deliberately.

Yes, you must go to the vet. She will be in agony if she has.

Could she have been stung by a bee?

definitely not. She's indoors always.. And indoors in my room always.. Window open, but I have a screen there as well with no holes for bees.

Re: Broken leg??

I hope it isn't anything too bad. I was wondering whether she could have gotten a tiny bit of glass or something sharp in one of her pads??

Anyway, I hope it isn't anything too serious.

Re: Broken leg??

The vet said there were no breaks.. she said it was probably a sprain or something.. she gave her meds for the pain and now she's walking on it just fine..

she said if she's still limping in a week to bring her in
