Whats the funnist thing anyone has ever asked you about your cat?

I'll start this off as I was going to reply to another thread and got thinking about this.

I once received an anti-social behaviour letter from the housing asc asking me to tell my cats not to mess on my neighbours concrete driveway! I'd only been in the house for 3 days - the cats hadn't been out once, let alone crapped or peed in anyones driveway obviously they'd be digging down through the concrete and then covering it up again. I took a picture of the terrier that was doing it and emailed it to them, I also explained to them that I could ask or tell my cats but they really didn't understand English to which the reply was well what language do they speak ... erm ... I dunno cat? This conversation went on for about 4 days via the email system, I wish I'd kept my old email to show everyone as the replies were really funny. Basically it boiled down to a typo at their end which instead of cat was Kat so they thought it was a human.

I also when I was a kid had a persian cross female cat who obviously had long hair, she got a little knot in her coat and because of problems (she was poisoned with rat poison when she was a kitten and then kicked around so she ended up a little brain damaged)that she had it was difficult to brush her and almost impossible to get a pair of scissors close to her, the vet didn't want to put her under as it wasn't causing her any problems, but the local kids insisted my cat had 5 legs (it did eventually come out and it wasn't actually that large but yeah she looked kinda strange).

Great thread KayWell we used to 2 outdoor moggies, one of which was Patch local chap about the estate of the cats-Rockhard he was and very promiscuous anyway the garden at the back of ours had a shed, and in the summer he used to shelter from the sun on top of the shed roof. One day theirs a knock at my door which i answered and this chap stood all serious and asked if the black and white cat was mine(Patch) i said yes, why?
"Well ya see that ginger cat over their, well he lives their(pointing to the shed garden) and i've noticed for a while now that your cat is picking on my cat and won't let him on the roof to come home-and i wanna know what your gonna do about it?"...First i thought-you what-then realising he was serious i explained that i would ground Patch and that we'd have serious words and that in the meantime he should get his mangy cat some Karate lessons as Patch never listened to me anyway, shut the door and pmsl

Sounds like that neighbour was trying to ask you out but was not brave enough, LOL!

'Where is he?' Asked a visitor of my old black cat who was sleeping on a black cushion right in front of her.

Re: Whats the funnist thing anyone has ever asked you about your cat?

My family & friends have come out with some real crackers about my persians:

"do their eyes dry up cause they stick out of their head?"

"God, whats happened to their faces!?? why are they squashed?" I still find it hard to understand why some people are really quite disturbed when they see a persians face!! I think they are beautiful!

And then my stepdad made me pmsl the other week when he came round......he was sat on the sofa and i could see him getting quite agitated and fidgety, so i asked him what was wrong....

"Audrey is watching me - i really mean watching me, her eyes are scaring me - she's sending me bad vibes!" ha ha ha!! :-)

He really was quite nervous!! He's a 6ft 3 tall bloke and built like a brick s**t house!! lol!!

I am amazed at how people say 'omg hasn't she grown'

Re: Whats the funnist thing anyone has ever asked you about your cat?

i once had in irresponsible neighbour at my door asking why i had let my big british bi-colour boy get her scrawny, flea ridden moggies pregnant on numerous occasions....my boy is neutured....but think she'd have any of it?! She then tried saying it was my Maine Coon boy....lol

had a bit of a funny situation last year involving cats....a neighbour died and her son had not done anything about her cats so they were just left, sooooo phoned up the rspca asked them if they'd catch them and rehome them, sorted that, got the trap in place and caught one of them, sent him on his way....only to have a hysterical old woman at the door saying we had her cat....explained that i oly had my own....then it dawned on me....we'd caught the wrong cat!

but she got him back in the end....he runs a mile whe he sees me!

Re: Whats the funnist thing anyone has ever asked you about your cat?

This happened a couple of years ago....

My neighbour got a new kitten, he was lovely and he used to spend alot of time with Furball (I think she got quite maternal), she has been spayed so I didn't have any concerns to start off with, but then he started to really pester her and spraying my front door (not pleasant).... So I go down to see his owner as Furball was starting to show signs of stress and was loosing weight.
The conversation went a bit like this:-

Me:- I'm sorry to inform you but your cat has started to really harass mine now, and he is spraying my door so I was wondering if you had considered getting him cut?

(Normal moggy type cat so I didn't think that he had a breeding program or anything)
Neighbour:- What do you mean by that?

Me:- Castrated......

Neighbour:- Oh I see thats ok he has already been done.....

Me:- (very confused at this time) Oh ok, in that case things should settle down soon enough.

As I was finishing my last sentence said kitten decided to have a bit of a roll right in front of us, and very kindly flashing two quite large testicles....

Me:- Ummm are you sure he has been done?

Neighbour:- Yup

Me:- In that case I suggest you take him to the vets as there is something going on there.

Neighbour:- Oh that, that's just what is left....

At this point I realise that I am wasting my breath (they were 100% testicles). And sure enough we had an influx of little black kittens turn up in our nieghbourhood.
A while later my neighboor said he was off to the vets to get said cat castrated, and in response to my hang on didn't you say he was already done? Yeah but I thought you were talking about his jabs....
