Re: Any Advice On Exotics?????

I have 2 ESH boys 1 ESH Blue point called Smudge and 1 ESH Tabby called Clonkers. Check out my pics and feel free to join my Persian group on here. "For The Love Of Persians" The ESH's are known as the Lazy Mans Persian lol But its good advise to keep thier eyes clean, i found a babies Top & Tail bowl is a great tool for eye cleaning for the water and cotton wool. I also have 2 Smoke/Black long haired Persians and one White Cream tipped long haired Persian. Once you get your first cat many more will follow its addictive i have 15 lol

I'm not up on breeders i'm afraid but i will ask my Persian owning friends for you. There is nothing on this planet that can top a cat for me. I have the 5 Persians that i got at no cost off the net but they were genuine reasons for them needing re-homing. I have always loved the Persian breed and the top Persian for me is the Chinchilla Persian they are just breath taking for me.

I also run a cat & kitten rescue from home thats why i have so many. (see links below for rescue and my Persians site) But my own cats are the 5 Persians Cleo, Salem, Clonkers, Smudge & Dylan and 5 Moggies Sophie, Shyla, Saffie, Amber & the baby who is half persian Smokey. I hope you find what you are looking for. Have you tryed finding local cat shows in your area that may be a good place to start.

Oh well gotta give credit where credit is due....well done for doing what you do, the world needs more people like yourself
I am currently looking into cat shows....i am a newbie as far as cats are concerened as i have a few dogs and have not owned a cat that before that has been solely mine. Gotta admit though, the whole cat thing is taking a strong hold of me at the moment and i can see myself becoming quite a fanatic
If its ok id like to ask you a few questions so ill pm you soon

Re: Any Advice On Exotics?????

Going to a show or two is the best place to start if you intend to show yourself in the future, it will give you an idea of what to look for in a show quality cat and also the chance to speak to some of the experienced breeder/exhibitors there. You will find many of them will be happy to give you good advice and may even have or know someone with a kitten suitable for showing.

It is more normal though to get onto a breeders waiting list in the meantime until one is available, show quality kittens are rare in a litter so you should be prepared to wait until the right kitten comes along. Dont be tempted to buy any kitten offered to you as show quality, this is where it could be a costly mistake otherwise, do some research on your chosen breed and get a copy of the Standard of Points for Exotics from the GCCF so you know what to look for before you visit any of the breeders.

I've done my research on the breed specifics but just wondered if there are any owners of this breed that may want to give me any useful tips or info that only Exotic owners will be able to comment on. Your posts will be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
Dave
I wouldn't mind an exotic male - where do you get them?

Re: Any Advice On Exotics?????

I've just realised an exotic is a cat I was thinking it was a sort of lizard.
Must take note what forum I am in next time.
