hi ya my wonderful hubby is building me a cattery and run, we are ok with the structure etc , but im lost to what to put inside the run area, if anyone as any ideas that they are willing to share that would be great, pics would be great also , i do have two large trunks of cut down trees that i could adapt to make a plinth come scratching post , but other than that im lost !

Hi ive put a cut down telegraph pole with climbing branches/platforms randomly around in the center of mine,and sisal rope round middle.Ladders and swinging platforms,ramps.ive thought about a tyre swing too

thanks for the quick reply , i somehow dont think mine is as large an area as yours! it sounds very impressive but its given me a few ideas thanks , do any of your cats use only certin parts of it or have there favourite section ?

the run part of the cattery will be 6 ft x 5ft plus a safety corrider of 3ft added on to this , the house /cattery bit will be 4ft x 3ft , hope this will be ok, it will be for a max of 3 cats , (just for outside space) the cats will not be living in there, will these sizes be ok?

How about getting a couple of plant pots and growing some catnip / cat grass for them to chew on?

Lucky you having a cat run I have one and the cats love it, they have a lookout (posting picture) and they sit at the top - cats love being up high, and watch the world and I agree with the idea of some plants but make sure they are safe for the cats. but lucky you having a husband to make yours I had to pay someone to do mine but worth every penny.

Just bought a large cat cradle from Catplay stations. Makes some nice looking stuff.

When I had one, I had a small watering pond for them to drink from, a little sandbox for poopoos as well as all sorts of stimulation toys and high perches. I also had a cat wheel. It looks like a giant hamster wheel and my cat's loved it! You can make one pretty easy if your husband is handy enough. No need to pay the huge price for the ones online.
