Re: cats and cars.

I was reading the other day that our local council just bins dead cats that are found in public, even though they have microchip readers that are used for dogs!?! I presume it's the same most places but to me that is diabolical!!!! How many people are still searching for missing cats that the council have binned???

One day my husband and I set off on a long journey, but heard a funny noise coming from under the bonnet. As it was a long journey we stopped to check it out in case we needed to go to the garage.

When we lift the bonnet out jumped a black cat that must have gone to sleep on the warm engine the night before. He ran off! We spent 2 hours searching for him and cancelled our trip - eventually we found him hidden in a nearby garden shaking but otherwise seemed fine.

I then spent another good hour knocking on all the neighbours doors till we eventually found his owner. He was fine

I felt terrible for the cat - but much better when we found him and returned him. I wouldnt have been able to sleep until I had. So NO WAY could I hit a cat and leave it!!!!
Wow - Lisa - bless - you get him back safely!

Tha is simply horrible. If it is a matter of money - they could just charge the owners.

Katherna will become famous soon enough
Re: cats and cars.

3 out of my 4 cats are virtually indoor cats (age rather than me not letting them outside, they're 19, 14 and 10), the 10 year old cat (still refered to as the kitten, lol)never went out of the garden anyway, but out of 15 cats (those that I've owned myself and those that I grew up with only 3 have been hit by cars (all 3 were instantly killed)- 1 of my cats had been hit by a car before I rescued him and hadn't seen a vet as a result his pelvis isn't aligned properly but other than that he's fine, he does wheeze a little due to a broken rib that never set properly and he snores loudly (but that could just be how he always was). He has almost full use of his back legs, but even after 6 years of me owning him he still prefers to use his front paws to pull himself up the tree in my garden.
I hope your cat pulls through, it's awful when somethings happened to them and you can't make it better straight away. Fingers crossed for you and the cat.
