Red face Any advice on helping a kitten settle into a new home?

Hi all,
Just wondering if you could give any advice on helping my kitten settle into his new home?
Last night was his first night, and he cried at 3am for approx 20 mins. My partner went to the living room (where we want him to sleep, he seemed comfortable and slept soundly until 3am) and pettted him for a half an hour.
He settled a bit so we headed off the bed again. We heard a few sorrowful meows but he settled within the hour.
Is this normal or is there anything else we can do to make our new family member settle in more comfortably?
Thanks guys!!!
Alan

Perfectly normal!

Cats are sort of nocturnal by nature, so when he wakes up and finds all his new friends arent around to play he's going to tell you all about it

I would ignore him completly at night, so long as he has access to food water and litter he'll be fine!

Yes, this is normal. I agree with the above - you should ignore it. I know it isn't nice laying in bed listening to these sad little meows but aslong as he has food, water and access to his litter tray he will be fine. He will learn soon enough and you will be greeted each morning by a very enthusiastic and happy cat
