Re: kittens and tuna

Personally would not give my cats Tuna until they were adult as it really is very rich for a kitten.

Re: kittens and tuna

Cats (and kittens!) do usually like tuna, but they shouldn't have "human" tinned tuna too often as it can contain traces of mercury and other heavy metals. If you do feed it, use the varieties in spring water, not oil or brine.
A couple of times per week at most should be OK. Sardines, mackerel & sild are also OK for cats.

Re: kittens and tuna

Tinned tuna is fine but just as a treat now and again, cats and kittens do love it. For their coats you need oily fish. Mine love sardines in olive oil (drained), but it has to be the boneless skinless kind

aaaw sweet they liked it. I gave my cat tuna when she was quite young I was a complete novice and knew no different. Obviously, make sure it is the spring water kind though and every now and again as a treat can't hurt

Re: kittens and tuna

I had the opposite problem. The woman I got my cats off of had ONLY been feeding them tuna and they turned their noses up at normal cat food. We had to mix tuna and dry food together and gradually wean them off it.

Though they both can still hear/smell a can of tuna coming out of the cupboard at 100 paces! and they get it as a wee treat occasionally.
