Red face Just plain water?

Hiya

With Jinxy being a little kitten, i have not bathed him, (he did fall in the bath once, while on my shoulders, and me bathing my youngest, but it was a shallow bath (thank god!) and i managed to get him out ok with just his paws wet.

Jinxy has something on his coat, something sticky. And i have been putting a bit of water on it, and trying to take it off his coat when he allows me, it is not bothering him, but he seems to miss that bit when cleaning himself lol

i was going to try and give him a bath. But is it better to just have plain water or is there a cat shampoo or something that is better?

Re: Just plain water?

cats generally find bathing very stressfull, and you will prob end up scratched to pieces!!can you just not use some unfragranced baby wipes and give it a rub?

Re: Just plain water?

Well, you could always try it with a small amount of water first. Or, just use the dry shampoo midnight recomend

Re: Just plain water?

We've got a flea shampoo made by Johnsons (we use the spot-ons for the full treatment), which you mix with water & then give them a bath (guess its like bathing a baby but i've got no experience of that). NB we don't actually put any water into the bath itself, just onto them.

Patch doesn't seem to mind the whole bath thing - we have more fun & games trying to get him in there. Lucky doesn't mind it. Def a 2 person job though, one to hold down & one to bath.

Jinxy is so interested in the bath, even after falling in it. anytime i am bathing the kids, he runs and climbs up my back peering in lol!!
