Clever boy Tigger!!!

I am soooooo happy right now, just had to post the news. It's a little controversial and goes against all of the advice given to me by everyone but I'm afraid I let him out on his own earlier (7.40pm)

He's just strolled back in looking like butter wouldn't melt, ate his dinner and after a big fuss from me and the OH is now playing with his catnip mouse.

He'd been crying more and more to go out over the last few days. I really can't explain it but just had a strong gut feeling (as one of life's ditherers I don't often get those!) that he would be ok let loose on his own.

Of course I was in a complete panic all the time he was gone and convinced I'd done the wrong thing until a minute ago. Still can't believe he's really back - what a clever boy finding his way around after only 8 days with us!!!

Needless to say he's not going back out now until the morning but it looks like he has what he wanted most all along - freedom

Re: Clever boy Tigger!!!

Wow that's great!

I wouldn't dare let a cat out for 6 weeks, simply because of my area but it's great that yours knows its home already!

Re: Clever boy Tigger!!!

Great! He's know where his bread is buttered! lol

Each cat is different and you obviously know your cat better than we do! hehe

Filou actually escaped the 2nd day after we moved and I was frantic but he came home eventually! (after me roaming the streets) lol

Re: Clever boy Tigger!!!

That's great
I lived here nearly 3 weeks when I let mine out, and I only let them out for short periods for the first few days, then kept them in at night for a few days.

Nearly 3 months later and neither of them have been away for more than a few hours.

Re: Clever boy Tigger!!!

Thanks for your comments everyone!!! Have to say I don't know what got into me letting him out like that but fingers crossed it seems to have been the right decision.

OH let Tigger out after his breakfast this am - he says he got all excited as soon as he clipped his collar on lol

Hope Tiggs comes back for his afternoon snack and that I don't have to eat my words later today and admit I was wrong to let him out......
